Ex-IG of Police Mike Okiro Gets Served With Notice To Quit His Rented Apartment .

Kundi Nigeria Limited, the owner of the Abuja residence of former Inspector-General of Police and Chairman, Police Service Commission, Mike Okiro, has issued him a quit notice, following his refusal to vacate the house at the termination of his tenancy. Okiro is said to have ignored a 3-month quit notice earlier served on him on April 30, 2015 and the 7 days “notice of owner’s intention to recover vacant possession of the property” which was served on him on December 1, 2015. This is contained in the plaintiff’s averment in a writ of summons marked, CV/M/01/1016 issued at the District Court of the Federal Capital Territory Wuse, Abuja by Kundi Limited through its lawyer, Baba lawal Aliyu. The plaintiff seeks among others, an order compelling Okiro to vacate the property and pay “mesne profit from October 31, 2015 at N666k per month till when judgment is entered.”  Kundi stated that it entered into a 2-year tenancy agreement with Okiro on July 25, 2013 at an annual rent of N8m for the property – a five-bedroom duplex and three-bedroom guest chalet, located at A06-4 Esa Oke Hill Close, Off Katsina Ala Crescent, Maitama District, Abuja. Okiro allegedly said he’d remove the fittings he erected in the house if he was to vacate the place, but plaintiff had told the court to restrain him from removing them, as there was no agreement for him to effect any renovation in the house. image

I left NTA in 2005 to pursue my B.SC in Mass Communication at the Olabisi Onabanjo University OOU Ago-Iwoye, Ogun State and finished in 2008 before joining one of Nigeria's best investigative Tabloids (National Enquirer Magazine & www.enquirermag.blogspot.com). I am very privileged to be trained by one of the industry's bests, my boss and mentor Mr. Tunde Moshood Jr, the former Editor of the defunct Fame Magazine, Publisher of National Enquirer and president Miss Global Nigeria who taught me everything I know in Journalism especially the investigative aspect which is the fulfilment of being a member of the Fourth Estate of Realm (as we journalists are usually officially addressed). My desire to take my journalism practice beyond the Newspaper & Magazine came from the passion I have derived over the years from investigative journalism as Online Media is the best platform to tell a story or news the very minute it’s at your disposal without wasting time.
