You don’t pay rent in Aso Rock, I built it, IBB tells Buhari

Former head of state, Gen.  Ibrahim Babangida, has kicked the rogue  2016 budget that has been trailed by controversy.

Babangida was particularly miffed by the provisions for rent for the presidential villa, and the huge budget for food.

His reactions were contained in strings of tweets via his handle @General_IBB.

Yesterday the Senate said the N10 billion smuggled into the Education budget was a typographical error,  few days earlier. Health minister, Prof Adewole told the nation that his ministry’s budget was tampered with.

The over N30.8 million earmarked for rent was particularly troubling to him, as he wondered who gets the rent for Aso Rock.

Another item that was of particular concern to Babangida was the colossal amount set aside for feeding.

N445.5 million is set aside for food in the Villa.

“I built Aso Rock and I wonder who the current Landlord is. I read a certain N22M for the payment of Aso Rock rent. Rent to who, Me or GEJ?” the former president who annulled the June 12 presidential election tweeted.

The former self styled military president also tweeted ” I  strongly believe our Politicians are well fed. The Aso Rock food budget should be reviewed. Aso Rock is not a place to feed Politicians.”

Babangida fondly called Maradona had few days ago disagreed with president Muhammadu Buhari remarks in London concerning Nigerians and crime.

He tweeted ” I think Mr President should know #NigeriansAreNotCriminals, Countries with the highest crime rate are USA; Germany; France; Russia & Italy.”
