Supreme Court Upholds Governor Wike&#8217;s Election"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.faithirabor.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/2016-01-27-18.56.10.png.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full\" title=\"2016-01-27 18.56.10.png\" src=\"http:\/\/www.faithirabor.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/2016-01-27-18.56.10.png.png\" alt=\"image\" \/><\/a> \u00a0 Today, the Supreme Court upheld the victory of the governor of River State, Mr. Nyesom Wike at the 2015 polls by overruling the earlier judgment of the Court of Appeal, which upheld the nullification of his election by the Election Petition Tribunal. Governor Wike had filed 20 grounds of appeal to the Supreme Court, alleging that the election tribunal relied on hearsay and inadmissible evidence to arrive at its judgment which favored APC\u2019s Dakuku Peterside.
