Former Military dictator and a three time Presidential Candidate, General\u00a0Muhammadu Buhari has accused President Goodluck Jonathan of witch-hunting\u00a0over the arrest of the two sons of Jigawa Governor, Mr. Sule Lamido for\u00a0fraud.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission had arrested two sons of\u00a0Jigawa state governor, Sule Lamido, over an alleged N10 Billion fraud in\u00a0November 2013.<\/div>\n
Over N10 Billion was allegedly transferred from Jigawa state government\u00a0accounts into the accounts in which Sule Lamido and his two sons have\u00a0interest from 2007 till date.<\/div>\n
The Commission is said to have traced these transfers to 10 companies\u00a0where Lamido and sons are directors and signatories to the account.<\/div>\n
The companies include Bamaina Alluminium Limited, Bamaina Holdings\u00a0Limited, Bamaina Company Nigeria Limited, Rawda Integrated Services\u00a0Limited, Speeds International Limited and Saby Integrated Nigeria Limited.<\/div>\n
But in an interview with Kaduna based Liberty Radio monitored by our\u00a0correspondent, said the decision to arrest the sons of the Governor is\u00a0primarily aimed at gagging oppositions to the Presidency.<\/div>\n
\u201cLike I have said, we have to properly secure and manage this country. You\u00a0cannot deny citizens their rights to express their own opinion or you\u00a0allow some people to brazenly threaten the cooperate existence of the\u00a0country and instead of inviting them and asking them to explain themselves\u00a0to the nation, they are given a ride in Presidential jets.<\/div>\n
\u201cWhen others do it, you go and lock them up or you harass them. That is\u00a0not the way to do things. For example, when the seven governors decided to\u00a0break out from the PDP and we went and visited them; five of the governors\u00a0took the risk. One of the governors still have problem with the police,\u00a0his children were arrested, the bank officials that transacted business\u00a0with his children were locked up.
\n\u201cThose are children of governors. You can imagine what will then happen to\u00a0children of ordinary Nigerians. There is this problem of insecurity in the\u00a0land, both physical and material which the All Progressive Congress is\u00a0about to whip out God willing.\u201d<\/div>\n
The APC chieftain said his believe for multi-Party democracy is reason why\u00a0he often time resort to the court after losing Presidential elections.<\/div>\n
He said \u201cwe have been to court three times in 2003, 2007 and 2011 not\u00a0because we were convinced that we were going to win. We went because we\u00a0want to make sure that this multi-party democracy takes firm grip on\u00a0Nigerians. If we can come and go, the system will be strong enough to\u00a0guarantee security for this country and guarantee prosperity for this\u00a0country. This is our objective.<\/div>\n
\u201cAll we are fighting for is to have proper democracy. What I mean is that\u00a0whatever people say, whether they reflect briefly on it or not, Nigerians\u00a0are now well aware of their rights and what they expect from government.
\nIn APC, we have reduced it to two your security sound management.<\/div>\n
\u201cWe have to secure this country and manage it properly. I think people\u00a0have suffered enough, they are now prepared to listen and I believe they\u00a0are listening and are cooperating. We have been convinced that since 1991\u00a0when the Soviet Union collapsed without a shot being fired that multi
\nparty democratic system is superior. But elections must be free and fair.<\/div>\n
