A governorship aspirant in Ondo State on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Victor Olabintan, has been abducted.<\/p>\n

Olabintan, a former Speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly, was abducted on his way to Abuja from Akure, the Ondo State capital, for a political meeting.<\/p>\n

Secretary of the Olabintan Campaign Organisation, Gboyega Ajayi, confirmed the incident.<\/p>\n

According to Ajayi, Olabintan was stopped by some men in military uniforms who mounted a check-point.<\/p>\n

Thinking they were soldiers, he stopped, only to be whisked away to a yet-to-be-known location.<\/p>\n

Olabintan, barely 48 hours ago, precisely on Saturday January 9, announced his intention to contest for the forthcoming governorship election in Ondo State.<\/p>\n

He announced that he would contest on the platform of the APC.<\/p>\n
